September/October 1944:

A resistance force was formed by locals form the villages in The land of Maas and Waal, refugees from the west of the Netherlands and volunteers from the province of Brabant. In September and the beginning of October they took part in the defence of the dykes along the Waalriver when British patrols only visited Dreumel during the day.

The group was commanded by Wim de Leeuw from Alphen and had their base at the Girlsschool. Efforts were made to become an official unit because the members were not registered as official soldiers.

November 21, 1944: The group becomes official and is registered as 7th Compagny Stoottroepen and is attached to 1st Canadian Army. The organisation is based on the Britisch standard. (1 Compagny = 165 men)

January 1945: 7th Compagny Stoottroepen is transfered  to Oss  for guarding services.

March 1945: 7th Compagny Stoottroepen returns to Beneden - Leeuwen in order to defend the dykes along the Waalriver east of Wamel.

May 13, 1945: 7th Compagny Stoottroepen departs to Buurmalsen in order to guard German prisoners. Afterwards the compagny is disbanded. Most volunteers resigned and returned home. Some of the volunteers joined another compagny for guarding services in Germany, others volunteered for services in the Dutch Indies.

Two soldiers from Dreumel were killed while serving with this compagny.:
